A celebration of Dublin’s 90s rave culture is returning to The Racket this July
Dublin nightlife at the end of the millennium is the focus of a returning exhibition by happening at The Racket Space in the basement of The Bernard Shaw this July.
Tracking the development of the capital’s club scene during its formative years, ANALOG RHYTHMS – A Celebration of Dublin Club Culture. will tell the story of pivotal venues such as Sides DC, Temple of Sound, The Ormond, The Pod, Columbia Mills, The Asylum, Temple Theatre, The Kitchen, System, The Funnel, The Furnace and many more – featuring a massive collection of flyers, photos, clippings, memorabilia… and plenty of tales from the dancefloor.
The exhibition is once again curated by Irish electronic music site 909originals.com, in association with Bodytonic, and will take place from 14th to 16th July at The Racket Space at The Bernard Shaw, in Drumcondra.
“The 1990s was a time of cultural awakening in Dublin, which was best represented by the vibrancy of the city’s nightclub industry. With Analog Rhytms, we pay tribute to the people and places that helped shape the scene and cement Dublin’s reputation as one of the party capitals of Europe.”
Steve Wynne-Jones, editor of 909originals.com
The exhibition will also feature a panel discussion, a club night, a family rave, music bingo and a rave quiz.
