Sorcha Richardson, AE MAK, Zaska and more for Culture Night at Bolands Mills

Bolands Mills throws open its doors for Culture Night with a night built around discovery.

‘Milling About: Culture In Every Corner’ fills the Grand Canal Dock building with live sets from Bricknasty, AE MAK, Sorcha Richardson and Zaska, plus art, storytelling and movement, on Friday September 18th.

Culture Night at Bolands Mills is back for its second year, and this time it’s bigger and better. Milling About: Culture in Every Corner runs Friday September 18th, 6:30pm to 9:30pm, free to attend, with music, visual art, storytelling and movement scattered across the site rather than confined to one stage.

The Factory at Bolands Mills – Main Stage

With the knowledge that U2 and David Bowie have played The Factory in its past, AE MAK, Sorcha Richardson and Zaska taking over a significantly historic stage for this Culture Night event is a signifier for where Irish music at the moment.

Grindstone – Long Play

Marcus O’Laoire presents a relaxed, record-only DJ set by the water. It’s pitched deliberately as the slower alternative to the main stage, all-vinyl.

Bolands Square – Local Colour

Kevin Bohan builds the mural in real time on the night, but the piece itself grew out of a workshop with a local neurodiversity group and a Dublin-based poet, so what goes up on the wall carries some of that process with it.

Don’t Kill My Vibe – In The Chair

Salon owners Andrea and Anja, both locals, built In the Chair around something specific to them: getting people talking while their hair’s being done. The subjects here are people who’ve watched the neighbourhood change close up, some of whom had a hand in changing it.

Reformation – Interlude

The Pilates studio runs low-key, interactive sessions through the evening, less a class than a chance to reset between everything else happening around the building.

Daphni – Nightcap

Daphni’s the wind-down room, cocktails and a pared-back Bricknasty set matched to the bar’s dim, unhurried atmosphere.

The Hot Box sauna – Rituals

Turn up the heat with an immersive sauna ritual, guided by expert Ritual Masters through steam, scent and traditional techniques. Pre-booking is required; details will be announced on the Bolands Mills Instagram page.
