A headphones dance music nature walk is organised for Killiney Hill this Sunday
Wanderlust is a new outdoor music event taking place this week.
Wanderlust will feature recorded DJ mixes played on headphones, silent disco style, in a walk in nature environment.
Dublin collective Pickled Beans are putting on Wanderlust Grá 4 Mná – a dance-disguised walk in the woods, adapted from Maria Scaroni’s Berlin movement Technodrift.
It starts on Killiney Hill on Sunday the 24th of March at 1pm, and is the second such event.
The DJ mix for Sunday is a techo, electro vibe provided by female DJ Charlois who has put together a mix featuring female/trans/non-binary artists.
All proceeds going to Women’s Aid.
Tickets from €5 plus fees from Resident Advisor.
‘wanderlust is a space between the cracks for people to get outside, loosen up and connect to nature and each other through movement and music. We are collaborating with some amazing Irish artists to provide audio backdrops that will get people loose and moving to the same collective rhythm.’
Co-Founder Rachel Mulqueen.
‘We’ve seen the stats behind the percentage of female, trans and non binary acts on festival stages. It’s mad to think it’s so slanted even in 2024. We decided why not use our platform to put these artists on top of the bill across the board. We hope to raise awareness of the unjust difficulties women, trans and non-binary folk have in the music industry and make a positive change for good, not just for International Women’s Day’’
Co-Founder Finn Stoneman.
