Alex Cameron announces new album Late To Set and Dublin show at the Button Factory

Alex Cameron plays the Dublin on Thursday October 29th in support of his fifth studio album Late To Set. Cameron is supporting The Strokes the night before in 3Arena.

The album was, in Cameron’s own words, “recorded on an avocado ranch in California after LA started burning in January 2025”. According to the accompanying bio, Late To Set grew out of nine forgotten screenplays written between 2022 and 2025, rejected by studios, partly lost to the LA wildfires, the charred remains fragmented and reworked into songs. Production credits include Mark Perkins, Zach Dawes and Maxim Ludwig.

‘Short King’ is his latest and greatest track I featured.

Cameron has always operated in a register where satire, menace and genuine discomfort sit uncomfortably close together, and the lyrics doing the rounds ahead of release suggest Late To Set pushes further into that territory than ever.

Some lines, couplets and quatrains from the album:

“Every puddle needs a drop of rain/Everybody needs a little pain”
“I ordered a hooker to my home/And I yelled at my family/I have seen the childhood drain/From my own son’s face”
