All Together Now will return in 2024 for its fifth edition next August Bank Holiday Weekend 1st – 4th, 2024, and the festival in Curraghmore, Waterford, has become one of the main big Irish festivals for discerning and curious music fans with its lineup of varied stages drawing from across the tapestry of genre and taste.
The festival experience also encompasses great comedy, food tents, fine wine bars, yoga, wellness and spa treats, so it’s the all-round experience on offer.
Which means an All Together Now ticket an ideal gift for the music fan in your life. Giving the gift of experience is the promise of a creation of great memories, and sure, you are probably going to go anyway, so why not make the call for Christmas, and give your partner or pal something big to look forward to next year.
Here are five things we know about ATN next year to help you make the right choice this festive season, as it’s much more than just a music festival.
1.
18 stages of music and much more
There eventually will be 18 stages of programming of music, food, cabaret, talks, DJs, spoken word and more at All Together Now, and we have the names for the first five music acts.
On the list so far are Ireland’s favourite alt-rock dads The National, the R&B, hip-hop, soul, garage, and alt-pop multi-faceted artist Jorja Smith, the high-wire heart-on-sleeve synth pop of Future Islands, the rising UK songwriter Bakar and the Ninja Tune-signed Scottish electronic producer Barry Can’t Swim, who will return after his set at Lovely Days at this year’s festival.
And as a reminder, last year’s headliners and notable names included Lorde, Caribou, Underworld, Sugababes, Overmono, Iggy Pop, Nick Cave, James Murphy, Fight Like Apesand many more.
2.
Food & drink delights
Last year’s All Together Now saw a wealth of options to wipe the floor with many sub par festival food offerings at other festivals.
ATN featured the popup tent where Crudo – neighbourhood café, wine bar and eatery hosted Italian three-course meals and brunch all weekend, the Neighbourhood Wine bar tent that had a considered list of wines, bubbles and unique cocktails that became a weekend meeting point for many (with added DJ), right up the steps from the Theatre of Food: Grub Circus tent featuring a two-day programme of food-themed events, demos, cooking competitions, tastings, workshops, debates programmed and hosted by food writer Joe McNamee, and featuring some of Ireland top food personalities, Michelin star chefs, makers and producers.
Jordan Bailey (formerly Aimsir), Damien Grey (Liath), Kevin Thornton, Jess Murphy (Kai), Kwanghi Chan (Bites by Kwanghi), Aishling Moore (Goldie), Rory O’Connell, Darina Allen all featured last year.
In the campsite, the veggie food and coffee options meant a restorative start to the day, and the varied stocked bars meant a range of drinks, with the free movement of cans from the campsite at all times making it easier to make the festival budget land.
3.
Wellness
Prioritise pleasure but also rest. That is the proper way to do a festival, and All Together Now has you covered.
From the RISE Nordic Spa Danish wood-fired hot tubs and saunas, to the lawns where yoga sessions, sound baths, massage therapists reflexologists, shamanic healing, mindfulness and breathwork offer many options for necessary renewal and restoration before going again.
4.
Comedy
During the day at the festival, The Well hosts a wide array of Irish-lead comedians, all are who out-standing in their field.
Last year’s comedians included Deirdre O’Kane, Emma Doran, David McSavage, Peter McGann, Fred Cooke, Kevin Gildea, Michael Fry, Killian Sunderman, Karl Spain, Áine Gallagher, Shane Clifford and more.
Plus Tommy Tiernan hosted the Brunch on The Bandstand too.
5.
The 3000-acre site
All Together Now is aimed at people with a varied interest in music, art, wellness, spoken word, literature or discovering something new…
Also, from experience at previous years, Curraghmore Estate is a beautiful 3000-acre site that is worth a wander. I found myself in spaces of relative quiet and calm last year even though there were thousands of people buzzing around me. What’s more, the security isn’t heavy-handed when you do go for a bit of a ramble.
The unspoken magic of the festival is the layout and Curraghmore offers rolling hills, forest walks, giant Deer head meeting points, secluded bars, relaxed lake views, an inflatable church, swings, seats and art installations in between all of the fun.
