One of the records I’ve given a lot of time to this year but have not really covered here is Portland band Wampire’sCuriousity, an album of hazy indie guitar music with a psychedelic pop persuasion. ‘The Hearse’ is my favourite track from it and the band have released this excellent Raphaël Pfeiffer-directed stylised video that perfectly captures a well-shot B-movie horror aesthetic.

Hailing from the same city as Kanye, the music this Chicago rapper is releasing also echoes some of West’s early material. His new mixtape Acid Rap is showcases a sound cut from soul, funk and jazz, particularly the “acid jazz” variety.
