Brasilintime screening this Thursday

Just a quick heads up for anybody who’s interested in Brasilintime the documentary I referred to a while back, there is a screening of the film in the Lobby Bar, Harcourt St, Dublin 2, (in-between POD and Crawdaddy) on Thursday night (27th July). It starts at 8pm and there will be a Q+A with director Brian Cross (B+) afterwards along with an afterparty with DJ Nuts from Sao Paolo.

The film has been 4 years in the making and it is an essay-istic documentary which sets out to correlate the similarities between Brasilian and Funk music from the 1960’s – 1970’s. All the usual suspects are in there like Cut Chemist, Babu, J.Rocc, Madlib, DJ Nuts and of course the amazing range of Brazilian musicians that collaborated on the project. Check out the Mochilla website for more info! Choice Cuts are running the show and tickets (which are extremely limited) are €15. You could chance showing up on the night but tickets can be bought online at or All-City, Road Records, Carbon, City Discs and Big Brother.
