Damien Dempsey is established as a storyteller in song, and an upcoming show at the Abbey Theatre will see the artist stage a more theatrical production.
Tales from the Holywell runs from January 30th to February 18th, with Damien Dempsey and directed by Irish writer/director Conor McPherson.
‘I’m searching in the murk of my own past, looking for clues as to how I can live now, today. History around me. History within me.’
According to the Abbey, for Tales from the Holywell, “Damien invites us on a journey through his life – reflecting on his childhood, the early stages of his music-making and life as an Irish musician, with a powerful story to tell.”
Conor McPherson has previously directed his award-winning play The Weir and the international success of his smash-hit Girl from the North Country at the Abbey.
