EXIT Festival: Kate Boy’s 20 Songs For The Summer playlist & win tickets
Last summer, I had an amazing time at EXIT Festival in Serbia. The four-day event began in 2000 as a student protest against the Milosevic regime and now takes place annually in the a 17th century Petrovaradin fortress on the river Danube in great weather beside the town of Novi Sad. The festival site is filled with proper nooks and crannies, drawbridges, courtyards, moat-valleys, a huge dance amphitheatre, rickety wooden bridges, cobbled streets, tunnels, random alcoves and stunning vistas of the surrounding areas. Novi Sad is also a nice place to hang out in. It’s cheap and there’s loads of Greek and Balkan cuisine on offer during the day to try.
This year’s lineup includes Atoms For Peace, Bloc Party, Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds, Cee Lo Green, Snoop Dogg, Prodigy, Diplo, SBTRKT DJ set, Friction, Scuba, David Guetta, Rudimental Fatboy Slim and Sweden’s Kate Boy, who duly obliged with the preparation by making this 20 Songs Of The Summer playlist specially for Nialler9 and EXIT Festival, as heard below.
You can win a pair of tickets to this year’s EXIT festival taking place from July 10th to July 14th right here. A trip is well worth it. Accommodation and travel is not included but travel is about €450 or so through Lufthansa to Belgrade and travel to Novi Sad is about €20 or so, one hour away. Check the EXIT Festival travel site for more details.

Kate Boy’s playlist includes tracks from Talking Heads, Can, Thom Yorke, Joy Division, Cant, Holy Ghost!, Moderat, Niki & The Dove, Washed Out, Haim, Bowie and Kate Boy’s two brilliant singles ‘Nothern Lights’ and ‘The Way We Are’. It’s very boss. As is their new video for the latter, also below.
