Féile na Gréine hits Limerick this weekend with Katie Kim, Robocobra Quartet, Laurie Shaw, and more

Cathal Ryan

Limerick’s homegrown, not-for-profit, grassroots festival Féile na Gréine is back this weekend bringing a swath of some of the best emerging and experimental music Ireland has to offer.

Rooted in DIY culture and run entirely by volunteers and friends the three days of festivities will see revelers descend onto the streets and head to pubs, clubs, and art spaces throughout the city.

The studded lineup features a film screening, musical workshop, and performances from FONDA, Jane Deasy, Laurence Kapinga, Sloucho, Julia Louise Knifefist, Robocobra Quartet, a secret headliner, and more.

As with last year’s Féile, attendees will be refreshed by a specially brewed beer, Féile Pale Ale, a collaboration between two of Limerick’s finest local breweries, and festival venues, Treaty City Brewery and Crew Brewing Co. The drink will be available on taps at all of the festival venues.

While there is an online event on Friday afternoon, the festival will officially launch that evening in Ormston House with a piece of work by Dreamcycles commissioned specially for the festival before heading to Pharmacia.

All events throughout the weekend are free but there are a handful of ticked events due to venue capacity, check out the Féile website here for more information on the festival.
