5 music events to see at First Fortnight in January

First Fortnight is now in its ninth year is a music and arts festival that aims to challenge mental health stigma and to create an open discussion and understanding of mental health.

A wide range of events from live music, film, theatre, discussion, sport and arts will take place in 17 counties across Ireland in January.

Thursday 12th January curated by Delorentos featuring Limerick trio Bleeding Heart Pigeons and Dublin rockers Pillow Queens.

Saturday 6th January @ The White Horse, Ballincollig, Co. Cork with soul singer Karen Underwood and Former Fred frontman Joe O’Leary.

Saturday 13th January @ De Barras, Clonakilty, Co. Cork with electro three-piece Wiggle and Clonakilty singer-songwriter Míde Houlihan.

Sunday 14th January @ MVP Dublin.

What better emotional release than singing enjoy this event in the company of friends and strangers at the Sing Along Social. It’s a zero commitment choir, no need to practice just come down and sing along to your favourite tunes in a unique community atmosphere.
