RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Awards reveal nominees for 2024 show

The RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Awards has announced its nominees for the awards show which takes place at Vicar Street on Tuesday 27th February and live on RTÉ Radio 1, with a television highlights programme on RTÉ One on Saturday 2nd March 2024.

There were multiple nominees for Lankum, Eoghan Ó Ceannabháin, Lisa O’Neill, Sorcha Costello, Aoife Ní Bhriain and nominations for OXN, The Mary Wallopers, Niamh Bury, The Mary Wallopers and John Francis Flynn.

The awards show will be hosted by RTÉ’s John Creedon; and will feature live performances from Eoghan Ó Ceannabháin, Niamh Bury, Bláth na hÓige, Johnny McEvoy, Rhiannon Giddens and more.

Tickets are available from €29.30 plus fees.

The Lifetime Achievement Award winner for 2023 will be announced in early February, in advance of the awards. Previous winners include Mary Black (2022), Christy Moore (2021), Steve Cooney (2020), Moya Brennan (2019) and Andy Irvine (2018).
