New releases out today: Jungle, Joy Orbison, The Killers, Raven Bush, Devendra Banhart & more
Friday is album release day and here’s a rundown of what’s been released on DSPs and physical releases in record shops.
Jungle – Loving in Stereo
This is third album of anthemic soul pop from British duo Josh Lloyd and Tom McFarland. Cinematic instrumentation, sweet-sounding vocals and the archetypal eighties electro-pop
feel makes for an irresistible body of work.
Joy Orbison – still slipping vol. 1
A long-awaited debut album from the English producer that plays like a mixtape touching on his various styles over the years.
Raven Bush – Fall Into Noise
English electronic producer releases a debut album. We featured a track a while ago.
El Michels Affair meets Liam Bailey – Ekundayo Inversions
Reggae-leaning songs with appearances from Black Thought and Lee “Scratch” Perry
Boldy James / The Alchemist – Bo Jackson
Griselda rapper Boldy James and producer Alchemist have reunited for a new LP. Guests include Earl Sweatshirt, Curren$y, and Boldy James’ fellow Griselda rapper Benny the Butcher
The Killers – Pressure Machine
The Killers’ seventh album introspective nature divulges smalltown American anecdotes of the lead singer Brandon Flowers and features Phoebe Bridgers on vocalist on one track.
McClenney – On A Virgo Mind
Second album from singer whose attractive tones are reminiscent of
Frank Ocean.
Devendra Banhart – Refuge
This collaborative work by Devendra Banhart and Noah Georgeson provides a psychedelic
musical experience
Desiigner – The Hard Way
We haven’t had an album from the Brooklyn born rapper since May 2018. The three track EP
provides us with the infectious beats and pulsating lyrics synonymous with the rappers
musical style.
Jade Bird – Different Kinds Of Light
“Americana’s new hope and a pop-country queen-in-waiting,” according to NME.
Oscar Lang – Chew the Scenery
The fourth album from the alternative Brit-pop artist.
K CAMP– FLOAT
The American rapper is most known for mainstream success of his track ‘Renegade’
as it became a Tik Tok sensation (it was literally everywhere). This is his sixth studio album.
$uicideboy$ – Long Term Effects of Suffering
Indicative of the title, the album unapologetically addresses the effects of psychological
turmoil
Future Islands – ALAYA Remixes EP 3
A three-track EP remixing Carl Cox, Sudan Archives and Controller 7.
Jackie Hayes – There’s Always Going To Be Something EP
Hayes’s debut EP. A five-track rock-pop compilation with an edge.
blackbear – misery lake EP
A five-track EP featuring Travis Barker, Sasha Alex Slaon and Tate McRae.
A Certain Ratio – ACR:EPR
A remix EP from Manchester post-punks
