The Emigrant Disco is an annual December party for those who have left and stayed put. It happens on Saturday 19th December at Bar Tengu, Yamamori Sushi with sets from Space Dimension Controller, Dip DJ crew, Papa Lou (Discotekken), Joma (Telephones) and Jon Averill (Shock World Service)

The New Years Festival Dublin Countdown concert on College Green has been announced with The Coronas, Fatboy Slim, Kila, Ryan Sheridan and Little Hours. December 31st / €34.50+ fees on sale Thursday from Ticketmaster.
Popical Island have announced an all-dayer for Saturday December 19th in Whelan’s from 3pm upstairs with Squarehead, Skelocrats, Lie Ins, Ginnels, No Monster Club
Owensie, Walpurgis Family, The Number 1s and Me and My Dog.
Homebeat have a few gigs upcoming:
Firstly, returning to their genesis, Homebeat host a house show for Participant’s new EP launch on November 26th.
Then on December 11th, they host Klubnacht in the Goethe Institut on Merrion Square, a night celebrating the very best of Irish and German electronic music held in and throughout the Georgian surrounds of the soon-to-be-refurbished office buildings of The Goethe Institut on Merrion Square. Playing live are Lake People (Permanent Vacation), Carriages, Benihana Music. There’ll be a DJ set from Neil Flynn, visuals by LeTissier and decor by Queens of Neon & Adorn Decor. Tickets are only €7.
Misha Freshin’ are bringing Brainfeeder artist Iglooghost to Dublin for his debut Irish gig. It happens on Doyle’s Basement on November 27th. Expect a Funktion1 soundsystem.
Aiken are bringing Vampire Weekend’s Baio to the Workman’s Club for a show on February 22nd 2016. Chris Baio just released his second album of solo synth-pop electronica. Tickets priced €16 + fee on sale Friday from TM.
Hot on the Heels of Love is an event in IMMA on Wednesday December 9th, billed as “a nocturnal counterpart to the major exhibition What We Call Love”. Curated by Padraic E. Moore, performers include Girls Names, Somadrone, School Tour, Wounded Healer along with William Hunt, Conor Foy, Caoimhe Lavelle, Dorje de Burgh, Sophie Merry, Richard Proffitt and Elise Rasmussen. The vent is free but you can book.
