Girl Band & Bob Gallagher team up again on uncomfortable video for ‘Going Norway’
A match made in heaven really.
Girl Band & Bob Gallagher are no strangers to one another’s work. Gallagher’s video for the band’s cover of ‘Why They Hide Their Bodies Under My Garage?‘ remains among the most memorable Irish music videos of the decade.
The band and director go strange again on the video for new single ‘Going Norway’. A dark play on psycho-therapy with underlying themes of post-trauma on display.
The many hues of red are a genius touch, always a colour associated with danger and passion.
The song itself is plenary, a fitting indication of how the Dublin noise group have honed their craft during their hiatus. The same industrial sound palettes remain, but the production is more grandiose. The vocals are more compelling, at times unnerving.
We are so ready for The Talkies to be released, it’s due out on September 27th.
Tickets, at €30+, for the band’s Vicar Street date on November 23rd are on sale here.
