Glastonbury Emerging Talent competition for UK and Irish bands runs this week
Glastonbury Festival will accept entries from UK and Irish bands for one week only next week from Monday 20th – Monday 27th for their annual Emerging Talent competition which gives a band not signed to a label the opportunity to play one of the main stages.
Previous winners/entrants include Stornoway, Scouting For Girls, Treetop Flyers, Ellen and the Escapades, the Subways and, last year, Bridie Jackson and the Arbour.
Entry can be done next week via glastonburyfestivals.co.uk and a panel of 40 music writers and bloggers (including me) will be listening to the acts, compiling a longlist and then that list will be reduced to eight by Michael and Emily Eavis, where a live showcase gig will decide the winning act in April.
