The Canadian post-rock band are coming back to Dublin for their first show here since 2016.
Godspeed You! Black Emperor’s imperial phase occurred from 1997 to 2002 where their long-form instrumental chamber rock, post-rock music drew on cinema’s recorded ambiance, spoken-word recordings and dynamic-swaying music as heard on noted albums F#A#∞ (1997) and Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven (2000).
Godspeed’s live shows feature multiple 16mm projectors showing overlapping analog film loops and reel and only two official band photos in 25 years add to the mystique.
Godspeed will play National Stadium, Dublin on Sept. 27, 2024
Tickets on sale Friday 2nd February at 10am from Foggy Notions and U:Mack.
Godspeed You! Black Emperor’s last album was G_d’s Pee AT STATE’S END! – the band’s fourth post-reunion album (and eighth overall) released on April 2nd, 2021.
