Off the back of the spate of recent record shop openings in the Cork and Limerick areas in recent times, is the news of Golden Discs’ expansion into specialist vinyl sales, beginning with the opening of The Vinyl Lounge, on the first floor of the chain’s flagship Cork outlet this Tuesday.
A special launch event will mark the occasion, wherein Cork photographer Brid O’Donovan will exhibit a collection of her work (including the above shot of Rusangano Family) documenting Ireland’s vibrant music scene; the first of a series of photography exhibitions planned for the space.
Tom Dunne (Something Happens/Newstalk) will be on turntable duties for the evening, spinning a selection of his favourite records. Stephen Fitzgerald, CEO of Golden Discs, will also be in attendance to speak, while O’Hara’s Craft Beer will be supplying the refreshments.
Locals interested in attending the launch event can message Bríd O’Donovan Photography on Facebook for more information.
