Friday is release day and here’s the first things that caught my ear while listening to new songs out.

See the New Music section for individual posts on tracks.

Lana Del Rey – Let Me Love You Like A Woman

With a promise of a new album to come soon, LDR follows up her poetry album and Norman F**king Rockwell with this new song recorded with Jack Antonoff.

Sharon Van Etten – ‘Let Go’

Van Etten has a new song soundtracking the Pepe The Frog film Feels Good Man. We featured it on the podcast this week. Sharon also guests on a new Local Natives song.

Orla Gartland – ‘Pretending

London-based Dublin artist Orla Gartland has a full album out in 2021 and this is the first single from it.

The Vision featuring Andreya Triana & Ben Westbeech – ‘Missing’

The Vision production duo of Kon and Westbeach with vocalist Andreya Triana have an album on the way, they shared the third single with remixes by Maurice Fulton and Deetron.

We Cut Corners – ‘You Get A Pass’

We Cut Corners do scuzzy rock in this 2 minute ditty.

Elliot Mo – ‘Oceans’

Formerly of pop duo Xo Mo, Elliot Mo leans into Bonobo-esque upbeat dance territory.

Ten Past Seven – ‘Turf War’

Didn’t see that coming this week. Cork post-rock band Ten Past Seven are back with sludgey sounds with a new release in November called Long Live The Bogwalrus. The last time we heard from them was 2014.

“This song is about the frustration of wanting someone and trying not to lose face by putting all of your cards on the table (but if you’re honest with yourself, you already have!) It’s about that extremely flexible logic you develop when you really, really like someone, that ‘if they don’t text back within half an hour I’m done with them. Ok, I’ll send another text to make sure they got the last text and then if they don’t reply to that one, it’s DEFINITELY over’ moment.”

Julie Byrne & Jefre Cantu-Ledesma – ‘Love’s Refrain’

I love the hazy melodics of this once-off collaboration.

Benny Sings – ‘Rolled Up’ feat. Mac DeMarco

A song this smooth and funk-lite is hard to resist.

Boots & Kats – ‘Seratona’

Boots & Kats flex their Italo musles on a new EP on House Of Disco and I’m very much into it.

Leon Bridges, Lucky Daye – ‘All About You’
