Holy Ghost! – ‘Dumb Disco Ideas’

Watching the DFA Records Too Old To Be New, Too New To Be Classic short documentary this week really makes you feel a lot of love for the seminal label and its New York home. One of my favourite DFA bands, Holy Ghost! are back this year with Dynamics in the Autumn.

The band’s new single from the record is a perfect DFA record: hypnotic disco dance music along the lines of The Juan Maclean, Yacht, Shit Robot and Holy Ghost! themselves. The video, by Ben Fries for the track also uses the NYC skyline as an evocative backdrop.
