Noise-rockers Hookworms channel LCD Soundsystem on 'Negative Space'

Five piece psychedelic/noise rock band from Leeds Hookworms released their new track ‘Negative Space’ off their third album Microshift set to be released in February on Domino Records.

This track certainly suggests a more upbeat/dance sound for the new album to come compared to the previous two that stuck to the bands psychedelic-punk origins. ‘Negative Space’ sounds like The Rapture or an emo band jamming in the DFA studio in 2017. The band did cover LCD Soundsystem for an entire gig before so this makes sense.

Hookworms - Negative Space (Official Audio)

Of the album, Hookworms’ MJ said “All of our records are to an extent about mental health. Largely this is an album about loss but also about maturing, accepting your flaws and the transience of intimacy.”
