iamamiwhoami – ‘play’

Honestly, I recommend you just listen to the song before watching the video first time around. The track is a bit of a departure for iamamiwhoami, a chillwaving headnod pierced by Jonna Lee’s nasal vocals. It’s taken from their first album proper called kin of which ‘Sever’, ‘Good Worker’ and ‘Drops’ came previously. The album will be audiovisual and out in June on Co-Op.

  1. Love it.Big fan of hers.Very clever track. To my ears it seems the song was written at normal speed, then the music backing track was recorded at double speed and all instruments pitched up an octave. Then the whole track was slowed/pitched down by half with vocals recorded over this at normal speed.
Some nice use of side chaining to get that pumping effect. If not….then thats an idea I must try.
