Iceland Airwaves completes 2019 lineup & “achieves gender parity” for second year running
Iceland Airwaves has added its final artists to the Reykjavík festival for November 6th to 9th this year including Booka Shade, Hjaltalín, sir Was, Pétur Ben, Madame Gandhi, Self Esteem, Daði Freyr, Bushar Murad, Nina Las Vegas and more rounding out 130 bands from 20 countries to play the new music showcase destination.
The main acts already announced include Of Monsters and Men, Mac DeMarco, Whitney, Orville Peck, Shame, Vök, Hatari, Mammút, Seabear and JFDR. Full list below.
What’s more the festival says that its lineup “achieves gender parity” for the second year running meaning equal 50/50 gender split.
“Fantastic artists and performances remain our core focus,” said Anna Ásthildur Thorsteinsson (Marketing Manager of Iceland Airwaves and Phase One participant of Keychange). There’s such great talent coming through from Iceland and abroad that the selection process was effortless for us. Gender parity was easily met this year.”
Tickets are on sale now for 19.900 ISK (around €142) for a four-day pass.
