Jah Wobble’s Metal Box for Dublin show

Former Public Image Ltd (PIL) Bassist Jah Wobble is to play Whelan’s next year with his show. that features a performance of his revamped 2021 version of PIL’s 1979 masterpiece Metal Box.

Jah Wobble’s Metal Box – Rebuilt in Dub takes place at Whelan’s on Friday February 9th 2024.

The original album came in a round metal tin and was the epitome of post-punk experimental rock led by Wobble’s bass playing. Jah Wobble has reinterpreted and reinvented eight of the Metal Box – Rebuilt in Dub songs in a dub format and will be showcasing the album version on the night.

Jah Wobble’s extensive experience in producing dub albums undoubtedly inspired him to delve into a dub rendition of Metal Box. Metal Box – Rebuilt In Dub is a reinvention. Wobble passionately states, “I poured my heart and soul into this project.”
