Jamie xx looks ahead to a festival summer with new song ‘Let’s Do It Again’
Ahead of festival appearances at Coachella this month, Primavera Sound in Barcelona, Melt! Festival, Rock En Seine and more this summer, Jamie xx has released his first song since 2020’s speedy ‘Idontknow’, which itself marked a five- his debut album In Colour.
As the tune suggests, it marks a reawakening of summer festival normality with Jamie saying “I started making this tune last year, just as it felt like we might all be able to start doing the things we love again.”
It’s a soul-sampling track which builds with house music drops and euphoric drums.

Jamie hasn’t been too quiet of course, having released songs with Headie One and Fred Again, appeared on The Avalanches track ‘Wherever You Go’ alongside Neneh Cherry, and Vashti Bunyan and produced his bandmate Oliver Sim’s new songs ‘Romance With a Memory’ and ‘Fruit’, the latter of which dropped last week:
Meanwhile, Romy released the solo single ‘Lifetime’ and collaborated also with Fred again and HAAi on ‘Lights Out’:
