The SMC are a Kildare duo of Stephen Fahey (Super Extra Bonus Party) and Poggy (No Monster Club/We Are Losers) who released a spiky punk EP called A Shock for Jimmy.
The EP highlight ‘Got Let Go’ a howl of trashy musical frustration about the plights of working for a living, especially when that work comes to halt due to redundancy.
A video for the song has just been released written and directed by Jamie Delaney, with Albert Hooi on DoP, and features the duo having an accidental reverse van incident.
Check out the clip here:
The SMC stands for The Saturday Morning Cartoon.
“Sparklecore Thrash with a pinch of kink,” is how they pitch their music. ‘Got Let Go’ is from the duo’s debut EP A Shock for Jimmy, and was featured in Irish tracks of the week recently.
