Kynsy, the Dublin-born, London-based artist Ciara Lindsey, is back with a new single, ‘eleanor’, out now. It’s the first taste of a new body of work, the follow-up to her 2024 EP Utopia on Nice Swan Records.
‘eleanor’ is a brooding slice of jagged indie-rock, pairing glitchy, off-kilter production with immediate pop hooks. Kynsy says it’s about being enthralled by someone from afar, knowing they’ll only hurt you: “a dark, poetic take on teenage infatuation and unrequited love, wrapped in a romantic, reckless, early-2000s Skins atmosphere”.
She adds that it draws on the restless energy of Sorry’s debut album, giving it a slightly fractured edge beneath the romantic core.
She co-produced the song with two members of her live band: drummer Rory Gilmore, who is the producer and DJ Body Clinic, and guitarist Tyler Darrington, aka T. Evann.
