Galway folk singer-songwriter Niamh Regan has shared a new song called ‘Personality Hire’, with a music video directed by Róisín Kelly, made as part of the First Cut Youth Film Festival.
The song plays out like a job interview that’s going nowhere, with the narrator sizing up the person across the desk. It was written and performed by Regan and produced, engineered and mixed by Brendan Jenkinson, who also plays piano and clarinets. Dylan Lynch is on percussion, and it was mastered by Seán Mac Erlaine.
In the video, set design and acting are by Camille Peat, and editing and acting by Finn McKeon.
It’s the latest in a busy run for Regan who has dropped a few loose singles this year including ‘Chicken’ and ‘Leaving It Up To You’.
