Liberty Hall set to host a night of discussion and appreciation around the birth of Punk in Ulster
It’s fair to say that Ulster has produced more than its fair share of Ireland’s best punk groups.
Names like The Undertones and Stiff Little Fingers come to mind straight away, but the influence and lifestyle associated with punk music has been part of young urban Ulster’s cultural makeup since the late seventies.
‘Alternative Ulsters – Punk Rock and Teenage Kicks in Troubled Times‘ is a once off show being held in Dublin’s Liberty Hall on May 10th. Put on by We Shall Overcome, Please feed me a punk vegan cookbook and Hope Show, the event will consist of discussion, debate and musical appreciation surrounding the difficult period under which one of the nation’s most vibrant music scenes ever blossomed.
The lineup for the night is yet to be announced, we’ll keep you in the loop.
Tickets, at €5+, are on sale now here.
