An album club running in Limerick City will spin The Cranberries’ debut album on Monday.
Ed’s Album Club has been taking place in Crew Brew Company in Limerick City since late December, with albums from The Pogues, Beach Boys, Portishead, being played on vinyl over the next weeks.
Anyone can head along to the bi-monthly event, but they are strongly encouraged to listen to the album in advance.
During the club, attendees will play the record while chatting about it, and at the end, a wheel is spun to choose someone to pick two albums that everyone will then vote on for the next club.
Monday’s album club will see The Cranberries‘ debut Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We? played.
I launched the album club to bring people together over their love of music and introduce people to albums and genres they might not have listened to before. I also wanted to get people into listening to full-length albums.
Some of the albums we’ve done so far are Pet Sounds by the Beach Boys, her Abiding Memory by Pitcher56, which is a lesser known Japanese genre known as shibuya-kei, as well as Women Worldwide by Justice.
Ed Hannon, organiser.
Next week’s album club will take place on Monday, March 10, at 7pm in Crew Bew Co, with The Cranberries’ debut album, Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We?.
