Lisa O'Neill, Martin Hayes, Ye Vagabonds & more set to perform at the RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Award show in Vicar Street

October 24th will see the Vicar Street spring to life for the purposes of RTÉ Radio 1’s Folk Awards ceremony.

The event will see a number of folk artists awarded in varying categories. The aim of the event is primarily to celebrate the contribution of Irish folk music and musicians, in all forms.


John Creedon and Ruth Smith of Radio 1 will present the awards on the night.

Today, it has been unveiled that Lisa O’Neill, Martin Hayes, Ye Vagabonds, Dervish & more will all be performing live on the night.

Ann Marie Power, Head of Arts and Culture at RTÉ spoke about this year’s lineup. “Last year was an amazing night with stellar performances, a real celebration of Ireland’s vibrant folk music scene. This year people can expect another exceptional evening that reflects the talent and artistry that is so rich in our country today. And we’re adding something new – this year, not only can you here the entire evening of performance live from RTÉ Radio 1 – we’ll also have a highlights show of the Folk Awards going out a few days later on RTÉ One TV.”

Tickets for the ceremony are totally open to the public.
