After seeing Crystal Fighters perform at Electric Picnic and simultaneously loving and hating them at once, I didn’t know what the expect from this album. Turns out Star of Love, is pretty much the same thing, except leaning more towards the love perhaps. It’s still a bewildering mix of music; from psychedelia to dubstep to dance to wonky electronica, to Balearic ballads. It’s a mess but it’s an entertaining one.
