If you’re a regular reader of this site, you’ll likely have heard ‘To You’ and ‘Time’ from Cork duo Young Wonder’s second EP Show Your Teeth. The whole EP is now up for listening and purchasing and the other tracks to pay attention to include the boom-bap dragging electro of ‘Electrified’ which is the closest they’ve come to sounding like Purity Ring, the broken-up rhythm and vocal track ‘Seventeen’ and the out and out electronic banger which is a live favourite ‘Bullet’. The EP is further evidence of Ian Ring’s serious production chops.
Show Your Teeth is out now on Feel Good Lost Records via iTunes or Bandcamp and the duo have live dates coming up in Christchurch Cathedral for Evening Songs with Heathers and Ham Sandwich (and a choir), Sea Sessions, Indiependence, Latitude, Longitude, Castlepalooza and Strange Brew’s Cruise. “Closest they’ve come to sounding like purity ring” …. negative or positive comment?
It’s more just how I feel about the track, not really positive or negative per se. Depends on your view of Purity Ring
