Listening post: Jape picks his favourite tracks…
While Richie Egan now resides in Malmo, Sweden, he’s back to play a special Jape show in Dublin this Saturday night for Nightflight alongside DJ Jay Shepheard and White Collar Boy as part of The Grand Social’s second birthday. If you want tickets to that email [email protected] with the subject JAPE IS GRAPE before midnight Friday along with your phone number and name.
In the meantime, I asked Richie to share with us his current musical favourites…
What song(s) have been inspiring your new material?
I’ve been listening to electronic stuff like Zodiac, Andy Stott, Mano le Tough, Four Tet etc. etc. also Tame Impala.
The new stuff is very electronic – na’er an acoustic guitar in sight..
Favourite cheesy Eurodance song?
Would have to Cotton Eyed Joe.
Your go to disco track?
Komiko – ‘Feel Alright’ ( not strictly disco but puts me in the same mood 🙂
Remix of the year?
Can I say my remix of Villagers ‘The Waves’? If I can I just did.
Favourite track of your own right now?
New song called ‘After Collapse’.
Favourite song to wake up to?
Judee Sill – ‘The Donor’.
An artist you can’t stop listening to?
Anything Johnny Jewel is involved with 🙂
