The Mighty Stef returns as Count Vaseline

Avatar

Stefan Murphy was the driving force behind the Mighty Stef band until May when the band closed the journey.

Count Vaseline is the newest project from Stef and there’s already an LP called Yo No Soy Marinero ready to go on September 30th on his own imprint OCD-Tapes [Olive-Color-Dream-Tapes] on cassette and digital.

The project is more DIY and will feature a constant output in coming months. ‘Sleep / Weep’ from the record is in his words “a narco-pop lullaby sung” and one of the cosier songs recorded in Berlin with Gerrit Haasler for the record. Other songs were recorded in Atlanta and Dublin.

‘I’m gonna write a sleep melody
a song that I can sing in my own company
and i don’t mind if the day breaks
I don’t mind if my heart aches for thee’
