Mount Kimbie – ‘Made To Stray’
‘Made To Stray’ showcases Mount Kimbie’s deft ability to move their sound further into club territory without compromising what made them so special in the first place. On that front, the track features the duo’s trademark percussive nimbleness, their meandering synth style with a more direct flow that culminates in the duo, DOm and Kai singing together in unison.
‘Shadows turn to grey / A slave today
He cowered beyond reckless tracks of impulse
Made to stray around rough coasts / When grace is close to home’
The new album, Cold Spring Fault Less Youth will be out on Warp Records on May 24th, and will “more live instruments.. including drums and horns as well as experimenting with vocals.” King Krule features on two tracks. ‘Made To Stray’ is a free download here.
