Natalie Portman's Shaved Head

That is hands down one of the best band names I’ve ever heard. A pop culture reference that fits the band’s exuberance so well. While CSS spin off in a 90s rock retread and therefore shedding what made them fun in the first place, these Seattle teenagers are ready and waiting for the electro-pop crown. Some of you will run from these puerile, neon-clad hipster youth and their silly songs and so be it. But after listening to hours of gloomy indie music in my emails, I’m glad this band of teenagers exist. I hope these guys are massive in a year.

Their debut album Glistening Pleasure is out and about now in the US. Song titles include ‘Me + Yr Daughter’, ‘Slow Motion Tag Team’, ‘Holding Hands in the Shower’, the best song about newly-spruced beards ever ‘Beard Lust’ and the above 90 second sugar and colour rush of ‘Sophisticated Side Ponytail’. Bonus Natalie Portman pic after the jump.

  1. Much as I love bright colors and chirpy songs, I must jump aboard the ‘running from the puerile, neon-clad hipster youth and their silly songs’ brigade.

It’s too much! Too much, I tells ya!
