Here’s a rundown of new releases on DSPs and physical releases in record shops this week.
Gilla Band – Most Normal
Wait til you hear this thing. Dublin “rock” band are confounding already-heightened expectations with their weirder third record. You’ve heard the singles, the rest sound nothing like them. No, Most Normal weaves a tapestry of industrial, ambient and noise music around those tracks, coming across like Windowlicker and Gilla Band are playing on two different radio stations. ‘Post Ryan’.
Daphni – Cherry
Caribou’s Dan Snaith returns to his electronic side-project for his second LP on his own Jiaolong label. ‘Cloudy’.
Talos – Dear Chaos
Cork artist Eoin French’s third album of cinematic and ambient pop songwriting.

Farah Elle – Fatima
The Libyan-Irish songwriter and composer releases her long-awaited (genuinely) debut album. Farah plays a headline show at The Workman’s Cellar on Thursday, December 8th. ‘Desert’
TSHA – Capricorn Sun
Debut studio album from English electronic producer on Ninja Tune. ‘Running’
Oh Wonder – 22 Make
Ultra-pop duo Oh Wonder release the second half of the duo’s ’22 Break’ project, which chronicled a turbulent period of struggle for the couple. ’22 Make’ instead is inspired by their decision to get married, creating an album that soundtracks finding the light at the end of the tunnel.
Easy life – MAYBE IN ANOTHER LIFE…
Leicester band’s second album of alternative Indie / lounge hip-hop and R&B.
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard – Ice, Death, Planets, Lungs, Mushrooms and Lava
The Aussie psych band never stop.
Telefís – A Dó
Second album from the project by Cathal Coughlan & Jacknife Lee arrives a few months after Coughlan’s passing. Features Will Sergeant, Jah Wobble, A Certain Ratio and Sean O’Hagan.
Broken Bells – Into The Blue
Broken Bells’ first album in eight years from James Mercer and Danger Mouse (fresh from a Cheat Codes record with Black Thought).
The Coronas – Time Stopped
Seventh studio album from Irish band and the follow-up to 2020’s True Love Waits.
Ruth Radelet – The Other Side EP
Debut EP from the former Chromatics singer.
Alvvays – Blue Rev
Third studio album by Canadian indie pop band on Polyvinyl and Transgressive.
Open Mike Eagle – Component System with the Auto Reverse
LA-based rapper’s new album features Aesop Rock, R.A.P. Ferreira, Armand Hammer, Serengeti, Video Dave.
Clarence Clarity – Unrecorded History
English singer, songwriter, producer, and musician’s latest. I was a fan of 2015’s debut No Now.
