Here’s a rundown of new releases on DSPs and physical releases in record shops this week.
Hot Chip – Freakout / Release
Eighth album from the Hot Chipper’s new studio features Cadence Weapon and Lou Hayter. ‘Down’.
Röyksopp – Profound Mysteries II
The second part of their current project from Norwegian electro duo exploring “reoccurring themes such as love and loss, despair and reconciliation” while also being “wrapped up in an esoteric nod to those artists and genres that shaped us in our formative years
The Chats – Get Fucked

Cass McCombs – Heartmind
First album in three years from the American singer-songwriter.
Phoebe Green – Lucky Me
The Manchester-based pop singer-songwriter’s debut album. Title track.
Tink – Pillow Talk
The Chicago-born rapper and songwriter. ‘Goofy’. I last featured Tink in 2015.
Madonna – Finally Enough Love: 50 Number Ones
Greatest Hits & remix package with a title side eye of shade perhaps? Title references Madonna’s 50th number-ones on the US Billboard Dance Club Songs chart and compilation features remixes from Honey Dijon, Paul Oakenfold, and original 7″ versions.
Anna Mullarkey – Falling
Debut album from Galway avant-electronic composer on Strange Brew. Hear ‘Falling Apart’, which mixes string arrangements, ambient textures, piano, double bass and electric bass.
Aitch – Close to Home
Manchester rapper’s debut album. Described as a “100,000% a proper Manchester album”, it features Shaun Ryder, and samples Stone Roses and all. ‘1989’
Demi Lovato – HOLY FVCK
Eighth studio album by American singer moves into metal/rock territory.
Lauran Hibberd – Garageband Superstar
Isle of Wight artist’s pop-punk debut features members of Limp Bizkit and Wheatus. ‘I’m Insecure’.
Ruby Goon – Brand New Power
Moscow-born American artist Ivan Solimani Leznhev is a young singer-songwriter. who “soulfully blends early psychedelia, glam and indie rock.” Album is on Erol Alkan’s Phantasy Sound. ‘Cold Wind’.
Au Suisse – Au Suisse
Morgan Geist and Kelley Polar’s collaborative album features guest players include friends and labelmates Dan Snaith (Caribou) and Jeremy Greenspan (Junior Boys). ‘Control’.
Markéta Irglova – LILA
Czech-Icelandic singer-songwriter, musician and actress’ first album in eight years.
FIFA Records – 100
Cork label whose moniker stands for Forever in Financial Arrears Records releases a 13-track compilation featuring Driven By Snow, The Frank & Walters, Cat Dowling and more. Bandcamp.
Mountain Goats – Bleed Out
The group’s 21st album is a collection of songs about vengeance.
Being – There
Apartment Records’ first artist album comes via the vaults of Scotland’s Being. A project first conceived in the early 90s, Being recorded hours of music to tape and until recently much of it remained locked away in deepest Leith. In 2021 Edinburgh’s Firecracker brought some of this material to a wider audience for the first time with the Boxburn Funk LP and now Apartment is thrilled to release a further selection of these hidden treasures to tape. Gordi – Inhuman EP
The Australian musician’s EP came together from a range of sessions over the years in Reykjavik, Los Angeles, Melbourne, and Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Bandcamp.
Interpol – The Black EP
Includes ‘Say Hello to the Angels’, a demo version of “NYC”, and four live recordings from the Black Sessions recorded on French radio station Radio France.
