New Jackson covers Stone Roses ‘I Wanna Be Adored’
David Kitt’s electronic project New Jackson has released a new cover ahead of the album OOPS!… POP on April 19th on Permanent Vacation.
‘I Wanna Be Adored’ was of course, originally released by Stone Roses in 1988 and was the first single on their debut self-titled album.
The New Jackson version takes it somewhere towards vocodered Kraftwerk territory.
“There’s a real magic and elegance to the melodic interplay between Ian Brown, John Squire, and Mani on the Stone Roses ‘I Wanna Be Adored’ that I thought would really suit a New Jackson synthesizer treatment. It was a lot of fun to make. I’ve been playing it live since the end of last year’s summer festivals and the reaction has been great, people slowly figuring out what it is and all joining in by the end really adds to how it builds. It’s a perfect dancefloor song in many ways.”

‘Out of Reach’, ‘The OK Hole’ and ‘Like’ were previously released from the record.
Buy the album digitally and on vinyl on Bandcamp.
