Here’s a rundown of new releases on DSPs and physical releases in record shops this week.


New Albums


Yves Tumor – Praise a Lord Who Chews but Which Does Not Consume (Or Simply, Hot Between Worlds)

Fifth album from alternative artist Yves Tumor who is playing 3Olympia in Dublin in November. ‘Heaven Surrounds Us Like a Hood ‘


Unknown Mortal Orchestra – V

The Hawaiian-New Zealand musician Ruban Nielson’s new one is said to be inspired by “West Coast AOR, classic hits, weirdo pop and Hawaiian Hapa-haole music,” along with dealing with a family illness that meant a lot of the family relocated to Hawaii from Portland and New Zealand. ‘Nadja’


M83 – Fantasy

The ninth album from French producer/auteur Anthony Gonzalez is his first proper since 2016’s Junk. The widescreen electronic production is all here, and six tracks came out a while ago from it. ‘Oceans Niagara’


Ailbhe Reddy – Endless Affair

The second album from the Irish singer-songwriter has been teased with a number of pre-release singles to now.  Two of those tracks feature in our top 100 Irish songs of 2022.


100 gecs – 10,000 gecs

Hyperpop duo’s second album brings pop-punk, nu-metal and ska into the equation. ‘Hollywood Baby’


U2 – Songs Of Surrender

An album of re-recorded U2 songs, produced by the Edge. “Anthems but smaller” is how The Guardian put it.


Fidlar – That’s Life

American punk and garage rock band from Los Angeles have reached album number four.


O’SULLIVAN – these are not songs, they are stories

13-track album of songs from Budapest-based Irish indie alt-pop artist. ‘Love & Death’. Bandcamp.

The first part of Icelandic indie popper’s debut full length.


Tsar B – To The Stars

Belgian electronic pop artist, first featured here in 2016. ‘Underwater’


Daddy Long Legs – Street Sermons

Technology + Teamwork – We Used To Be Friends

Technology + Teamwork are Sarah Jones (sometime drummer for Hot Chip / Harry Styles) and Anthony Silvester. ‘Big Blue’ is a polychromatic meld of hyperpop and disco electronica.


Princess Nokia – I love you but this is goodbye

A seven-track project marks the New York artist’s return to the roots of 2014 debut Metallic Butterfly, it’s a lot more pop than rap. ‘Complicated’


Black Honey – A Fistful Of Peaches

Third album from Brighton dour-piece indie rock band. ‘Up Against It’


Adrian Sood – The Nightmare Gosifur Pt 3

Kildare composer and producer creates electro, rock, ambient and dream pop music. Bandcamp.
