This live set from Sweden’s Niki & The Dove (aka Malin and Gustaf) is hugely impressive. Insert inevitable comparison to The Knife here. Over nine tracks the band display a considerable knack for alluring oblique pop and electronica with a whopping big dramatic voice. Like Shabazz Palaces earlier, I’d heard some of Niki’s stuff but this set suggests there is great ambition lurking around the corner. It was recorded at Lejonkulan/Dramaten by gimmeindie.se.
