Output Belfast and AVA Festival are joining forces for a one-day conference featuring 80 speakers on Thursday June 1st from 10am-5pm in Belfast at The MAC and The Oh Yeah Music Centre in Belfast’s Cathedral Quarter in the morning and afternoon of Thursday June 1st.
Both of the festival’s respective live programmes, happen at venues in the city Thursday (Output) and Friday / Saturday at Titanic Slipways (AVA).
The Output evening showcases and the conference are free to attend, but they’d appreciate registration.
Many of the conference panels and workshops have been previously announced.

Tim Wheeler keynote
The conference’s Lyndon Stephen’s Closing Keynote (4-5pm, Downstairs Theatre, The MAC, Thursday June 1st ) will feature Ash frontman, Tim Wheeler in conversation with BBC’s Marie-Louise Muir telling the story of the iconic Ash and U2 concert that took place in Belfast’s Waterfront Hall on 21 May 1998 (25 years ago), after the Good Friday Agreement.
Output Belfast Evening Showcase (7.30pm – Late)
Following this, the Output Belfast Evening Showcase (7.30pm – Late, Thursday June 1st) will offer delegates a full evening of live music – for free – featuring 36 music acts (including two special guests) from across the North and South of Ireland performing at Cathedral Quarter venues: Duke of York, Bullitt Courtyard, Tetto Rooftop, Oh Yeah Music Centre, Ulster Sports Club (Upstairs and Downstairs), Dirty Onion, Black Box and The Deer’s Head.
The showcase will also include live performances from the four winners of the recent Output Belfast Emerging Artist Stage competition, for which more than 80 incredible emerging NI artists applied. The winning artists, who will perform live at Dirty Onion from 8.30pm-Late, are: Róise, Brother Vice, Susi Pagel and Con and the Éire Jordans.
Nialler9 and Faction Records are holding a showcase at the Bullitt Hotel this year with Skinner, Still Blue, Emby and Reevah playing.
