Premiere: Sea Pinks get sweet on ‘Watermelon Sugar (Alcohol)’
Belfast-based Sea Pinks further cement their own brand of dreamy guitar-pop with ‘Watermelon Sugar (Alcohol)’.
The track is the first off the group’s forthcoming 7th album. It features an infectious bassline and the sort of lilting guitar riffage that draws the listener into the land of daydream.
Rockpool Blue is set to be the group’s most finely tuned record. Exciting news considering the group have been producing quality jangle pop since 2010. However, the band seems set on remaining relatively modest about the entire thing, with the collection of 8 songs on the new record said to be their “most cohesive, outward-looking and ultimately positive set of songs to date”.
If ‘Watermelon Sugar(Alcohol)’ is anything to go by, audiences could well be in for a treat. Check it out.
