Record Room drops live compilation album featuring Laura Duff, T.A. Narrative, Post Punk Podge, and more
A live compilation album featuring a swath of performances from Limerick City’s top musical talent will drop this Sunday.
Made possible by stalwarts of the Limerick music scene (the Record Room, Wired 99.9FM, and WAV Mastering), Live at the Record Room was recorded throughout the summer of 2023 during a series of free specially curated gigs in the venue.
Taking inspiration from The Reindeer Age, a 1990 record capturing the vibrancy of Limerick’s music scene at the turn of the decade, the 13-track album aims to etch the innovative and diverse music scene of the city into history.
The Summer Sessions featured sets from Anna’s Anchor, TA Narrative, Hazey Haze, 50 Foot Woman, Laura Duff, SWEETS, The Low Field, Dylan Flynn & the Dead Poets, Small Church, Strange Boy, Paddy Mulcahy, Post Punk Podge & The Technohippies and The PVP.
The immense performances were all professionally recorded, mixed, and mastered with a track selected from each artist to showcase the vibrant live energy of each act as well as take a snapshot of a unique time for music in Limerick.
It’s so exciting to see this project come to fruition, and to release it in such glorious physical form – we just can’t wait for people to hear it now! We’re especially excited about those uninitiated to the Limerick scene getting to hear the talented and uniqueness of the artists that call this city their home.
Ray Burke, Wired 99.9FM.
The compilation album will be released on Sunday, December 17th with a launch party in the Record Room at 4pm.
The physical record will be released on a strictly limited vinyl-only print that will be available exclusively from the venue starting Sunday.
If you can’t make it to the launch, tune into Wired 99.9FM over the coming weeks to hear exclusive plays from the album.
