Right Here Right Now festival returns to Cork Opera House in June

Mike McGrath-Bryan

After a jam-packed debut edition in May of last year, Coughlan’s Live and the Cork Opera House have announced the return of joint weekend festival Right Here, Right Now, from June 1st to 3rd, slated to include a number of performances and events around the historic riverside venue, and its numerous concert and performance spaces.

Speaking about the festival’s second year, Coughlan’s Live Promotions head Brian Hassett said: “Cork is a hotbed of creativity and a breeding ground for a huge range of fantastic artists across a multitude of genres. Cork Opera House is proud to provide a stage for local, national and international acts to collaborate together. This festival is a celebration of the music scene in Cork and Ireland.”

Among the first wave of announcements and happening across the weekend: Jack O’Rourke and Anna Mitchell will play an intimate show at the Right Room, joined on the venue’s main stage itself by the crowd in attendance; The Frank and Walters (pictured) return to play with the Cork Opera House Concert Orchestra, alongside Marlene Enright and Ye Vagabonds; while later in the weekend, the Right Room is host to Iarla Ó Lionáird and Steve Cooney, as well as Wallis Bird.

Right Here, Right Now happens at Cork Opera House from June 1st to 3rd. Tickets for announced events are on sale now from the Opera House box office, and online from Coughlan’s.
