Saint Sister came into our lives via a video performance of their track ‘Castles’ that set their sound in the Celtic-influenced harmony folk world or “atmosfolk” as they call it.
For the title track from Gemma Doherty and Morgan MacIntyre’s Madrid EP, due October 30th on Trout Records, there’s a pleasing ethereality to the song that is wrapped in a looped vocal element, harp tones and stark drums. The EP was recorded in Kerry with Alex Ryan, the bassist in Hozier and evidently, a producer too.
The band are supporting Wyvern Lingo on tour and playing HWCH among others before the end of the year. Dates below. The EP is on pre-order on Bandcamp.
