Sea Sessions Festival: 12 recommended bands (in association with Vodafone Centre Stage)
Sunday
Black Grape
What did Shaun Ryder so after The Happy Mondays? He made music that was more wide-reaching and varied that was fun and funky drawing from rock, soul, rap, pop and everything in between. A nostalgia trip that might be worth having, for the first time or once again.
Cyril Hahn
Remixer extraordinaire for Destiny’s Child, Jessie Ware and Haim, Hahn brings a soulful house-pop edge to his sets. With a recent original EP of live music released and a new track with Joel Ford just out, things are staying up for this Swiss boy.

Lethal Dialect
Dublin’s finest rapper has a charisma and a way with words that few match. Just listen to his 1988 album from last year as an example of what Irish rap can and should be, all complete with rapper’s own accents. Live, he’s flanked by a live band and the soulful pipes of Jesse Kav who knows how to belt it out.
Kormac’s Big Band
He started as a scratch DJ making big beats and jazzy hip-hop that lead to A/V sets at festivals. A jump in ambition saw that stage show bring in a full live band of brass and singers and the result is that Kormac’s Big Band are great addition to any festival lineup, not least one beside the sea this weekend.
