The Nashville egg punk band are coming to Ireland for a three date run next week.
Egg punk is term for a wild and weirder DIY side of punk, high energy, break-necked paced and Snõõper are the Henry Rollins-approved band that embody the fun spirit of the made up genre.
Snõõper’s live shows are body-slams and may feature puppets, 8 bit animation, papier-mâché, whistles and who knows what else.
Snõõper took the time to tell us their top 10 songs right now.
1.
KETTAMA
Saint Laurent Edit
I figured I should start with an Irish artist and Kettama is killing it right now. This track immediately transports you to a festival in EU somewhere at 5AM. All the Steel City Dance Discs crew are on rotation at home & staples in our DJ sets.
2.
Machine Girl
Dance In The Fire
Bumping track from one of the most exciting artists and best live show currently going. This is on my running playlist and gets me stoked every time.
3.
Paul McCartney
Coming Up
Happy (our bassist) showed me this song and it totally blew me away. I only really knew ‘Temporary Secretary’ so figured solo PMC stuff was “less serious” but this song made me rethink all of that.
4.
Being Dead
Van Goes
My favorite Being Dead song. Lyrics about work, being rushed with a slightly darker tone and beautiful vocals. Something everyone can relate to.
5.
Brutalismus 3000
Romantika
Another recent discovery for me that I’ve been hooked on. Club banger and the synth almost sounds like a whistle so it fits right at home in the Snooper camp.
6.
Finale
Me Siento Ridiculo
Finale was the best band we saw in EU over the summer. Pepet is a human cartoon character who is so fun to watch live.
7.
X Club.
Hide The Junk
More SCDD love from one of the best in the game. X Club seem to only drop fire and are always getting airplay @ the Snooper Centre™
8.
The Books
A Cold Freezin Night
Blair showed us all this song, incredibly interesting composition that I was told is comprised of found samples the band got at thrift stores? Everyone loves samples of kids being vulgar.
9.
Yves Tumor
Strawberry Privilege
‘Strawberry Privilege’ really showcases the softer side of Yves Tumor and their ability to create a little world you get to visit for 3:52. I really could have picked any of their songs and could write an essay for each. My most listened to artist two years and counting.
10.
Bassvictim
Canary Wharf drift
“I really like when I put it on in the car with my girlfriends” – Blair
