Here’s the songs nominated for the Irish Song of the Year by the RTÉ Choice Music Prize

Following on from the nominations for Irish Artist of the Year, Irish Breakthrough Artist shortlist and the big prize for Irish album of the year, the Choice Music Prize has released the Song of the Year shortlist.

Song of the Year is chosen both by choices nominated by the judges (of which I am on the panel) and RTÉ, and unlike the other categories, the winner is decided by a public vote only.

The shortlist is as follows (alphabetical order):

To vote for the RTÉ Choice Music Prize, Irish Song of the Year 2024, visit www.rte.ie/2fm.

Votes are limited to one per person per day. Only votes cast in the Republic of Ireland will be counted. Voting closes at midnight on Sunday 16th February.

The winning song will be announced by Tracy Clifford on 6th March on a special Song of the Year radio show on 2FM that afternoon ahead of the live event.  

A special RTÉ Choice Music Prize highlights programme will be broadcast on RTÉ2 television the following week.
